Contamination Lab kick off meeting

An oportunity for young talents and local businesses

6th October 2024

The University of Genoa has launched the Contamination Lab project, engaging 40 young talents in a training program focused on starting and managing new businesses, while also encouraging creativity and innovation. This is made possible through the creation of multidisciplinary teams working on real-world challenges proposed by companies as well as on university research projects.

During the project’s kickoff event, several experts emphasized that the CLab represents not only a "business culture," but also a real opportunity for young talents—while also generating value for companies and the broader region.

Notable speakers included the Rector of the University of Genoa, Professor Federico Delfino, who highlighted how the project is an opportunity to develop transversal skills and problem-solving abilities.
Giovanni Gaggero, President of AirFIELD Security, also spoke about how CLab enables the transformation of a research idea into a market-ready product.
Technology transfer is a key process for bringing academic innovations into the real world, creating new businesses and opportunities.
